Roslyn Smith
Board Vice-Chair
Strategic Advisor
Born and raised in Texas, Roslyn’s parents instilled the importance of education and critical consciousness that cultivated a lifelong passion for service to others. While a student at Smith College, she experienced the advantages that education provides, but also the impact of culturally unresponsive programs that do not meet the needs of historically marginalized communities or those furthest from justice.
Roslyn has worked in Washington State public schools for 22 years in a variety of student-facing and administrative roles. She strives to create an environment of equity and respect that celebrates the strengths and perspectives of all students, where all students have a strong sense of belonging and community, and where all student needs are met, so they can fully engage in the opportunities of the education process.
